She will be joined by Jonathan Dharmapalan, CEO, eCurrency; Rory MacFarquhar, Senior VP, Mastercard and Rene Reinsberg, CEO, Celo. Together they will discuss about “Current shortcomings of cross-border payments, and new technological developments are an invitation to the private sector to offer innovative solutions. Which are some of the emerging solutions, and how might we benefit from them? The panel will also uncover what private entrepreneurs expect from policymakers and regulators. Can innovation be encouraged while preserving a level playing field, and ensuring interoperability of solutions?”
Cross border payments need infrastructure that is already being offered by Stellar network. Stellar also offers myriad stablecoins pegged to standard currencies, which allows a user living in Nigeria send Nigerian Naira to someone in Europe instantly. The receiver receives Euro token that can be withdrawn to bank as euros.
